Cognitive-behavioral therapies with a spiritual orientation: techniques and cultural adaptations: a fourth wave perspective CBT

Author:
-Dr. Masoud Janbozorgi

In this work, the author has tried to combine cognitive behavioral methods with an emphasis on the spiritual dimensions of man; in fact, the therapist does not only focus on correcting thoughts and behavior, but also on the meaning of life, faith, and the spiritual dimension of the individual.

In the theoretical part of the book, concepts such as meaning, faith, hope, and human connection with God are introduced as therapeutic resources, and how they affect mental health is examined. Then, in the practical part, techniques such as restructuring negative thoughts, dealing with anxiety and depression, acceptance, practicing gratitude, and behavioral interventions with a spiritual approach are presented.

One of the advantages of the book is that it helps those who are interested in psychological treatments but are simultaneously concerned about spirituality to find a bridge between modern psychotherapy and religious belief. This work is a good option for counselors, psychologists, and students of spiritual psychology.
